Wireless, John Cook Aug 14, 2007
Bellevue's IceBreaker, which operates "Bigcafe" and raised $7.2 million in venture financing in June, has attracted more than 250,000 users since its launch last January. Irvine, Calif.-based Boost Mobile, a division of Sprint Nextel, is a wireless carrier that targets customers under the age of 25. The "Crush or Flush" service allows mobile phone users to chat anonymously via text message without divulging information such as cell phone numbers or e-mail addresses. In a press release, Craig Thole of Boost Mobile said that the service was a "run away success" with subscribers during a trial period. |
